The Martian

During a manned mission to Mars, astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a violent storm forces his crew to abandon the mission and leave the planet. However, Watney survives and is left stranded alone on the hostile red planet. With limited resources and no way to communicate with Earth, he must use his scientific knowledge, resourcefulness, and determination to stay alive. Facing seemingly insurmountable odds, Watney sets out to find a way to signal to Earth that he is still alive, hoping for a rescue against all odds.
